When I'm creating fairies I use different types of wire. The armature and hair is stainless steel , anything from 0.4mm to 1.6mm depending what I am doing with it! Freaky fairy is probably a little cruel! 😈 I'm happy with the armature so far. The head needs a 'little' more work but that'll come. I've had a week of appointments so not spending as much time in the studio as I would like. However next week I'll start on adding more wire to her to fill her out.
