my favorite place that I have travelled to in the last year - mostar, bosnia and herzegovina. not only does it look like a fairytale town, but it has one of the richest histories. mostar was under ottoman rule for over 400 years, until the late 19th century when the austro-hungarians took over. it served as an important trade town between the adriatic and central bosnia - & the ottomans built the famous stari most (aka the old bridge) that overlooks the neretva river and the minaret of nearby ko
